Turkish delegation meets Erdogan in Ankara

     Baghdad / Range

A Turkmen delegation to the Turkish capital of Ankara confirmed that it has received international support to make Kirkuk a Turkmen province and to turn both the Al-Tuz and Tal Afar districts into two provinces.
The Anatolia news agency reported that Erdogan met with the Iraqi Turkmen delegation in the presidential compound, noting that the meeting between Erdogan and the delegation was closed, and could not find out more details.
Meanwhile, the Turkmen Front announced on Monday that the delegation called for Turkish support for Turkmen. "The President of the Republic Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received the delegation of the Turkmen High Coordination Commission headed by the head of the Turkmen Front MP Arshad Salhi in the presidential office in the Turkish capital of Ankara."
"The meeting discussed the general situation in Iraq, the situation in Kirkuk in particular and the results of the referendum in the territory of northern Iraq and the subsequent events and the entry of the federal forces to Kirkuk and the rest of the disputed and different areas and the extension of security."
"We have seen Iraqi, Turkish, Iranian and Iraqi support to make Kirkuk a Turkmen province, and Tuz and Tal Afar are two provinces," said Jassem Mohammad Jaafar, a member of parliament.
In a statement, the Turkmen deputy said that "the Turkish Supreme Coordination Council held a meeting in Ankara on Sunday with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan," noting that "this meeting is the first of the Turkmen coordination with Erdogan, and came after the meeting of the latter with the President Minister Haider Abadi. "
"The Turkomans have supported Iraqi, Turkish and Iranian support for their political future in Kirkuk by making them Turkmen and Tuz and Tal Afar provinces, and their role in finding partnership and exemplary management in these areas," he said.
The Turkmen MP praised the "Turkish position of Turkmen" and called for "to make the post of governor of Kirkuk Turkmen and his deputy for the Arabs and the presidency of the Kurdistan Region Council and its administration is carried out in partnership and consensus in accordance with Article 23 in Law 36 of 2008."
