A senior Iraqi parliamentary delegation is due to start a visit to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday in an attempt to launch a new phase of cooperation between the two countries, the Iraqi-Saudi Friendship Committee said on Monday.
"The formation of a high-level parliamentary delegation to head to Saudi Arabia to try to start a new phase of cooperation between the two countries' deputies," said Hassan al-Hamdani, head of the committee, in an interview with Sky Press.
He added that "the new vision in Iraqi politics was planned by the Committee on Foreign Relations parliamentary since the start of the parliamentary session in 2014," praising "the steps of Prime Minister Haider Abadi in opening up to all countries, whether Arab or regional and international."
He added that "the committee formed a delegation from various committees and political blocs in parliament will begin on Tuesday a visit to Saudi Arabia and continue for a week," adding that "the visit will include the consolidation of relations with the Saudi Shura Council, and the announcement of the formation of the Saudi-Iraqi Friendship Committee; Of the two countries and facilitate the work of governments, and the conclusion of agreements to achieve the benefit and communication between them in the future.
