Dhi Qar Announces $ 10 Million Service Projects in Petronas' Social Benefits

The administration of Dhi Qar province announced the near transfer of service projects at a cost of 10 million dollars planned to be implemented in areas close to the field of oil Gharraf, and indicated that the financing of projects will be within the program of social benefits of Petronas oil company operating in the field mentioned, confirmed that service projects will be allocated according to priority and take into account Local people need services.
The governor of Dhi Qar Yahya Naciri during a meeting with the delegation of Petronas Malaysian Oil, headed by the executive director of the project Ghraaf Suhaimi bin Abdullah, "The province's administration referred earlier five service projects at a cost of five million dollars in different areas close to the oil field, The transfer of new service projects more than ten million dollars, "noting that the projects to be implemented will be allocated according to priority and take into account the need of the local population of services, and will benefit the people of the province.
Naciri added that "the local government in Dhi Qar seeks to strengthen the joint work with Petronas, which is developing the oil field and work to overcome the obstacles that may face the company, and raise the proportion of national manpower and inclusion of the people in the province in the training courses and rehabilitation work by the company to develop their abilities And the rehabilitation of the work in the oil industry, "stressing the commitment of the local government to provide all kinds of necessary support and facilities required for investment companies operating in the province, including Petronas.The two companies, Petronas of Malaysia and Gapex of Japan won the contract to develop the Gharraf oil field in the province of Dhi Qar and signed (on 19 January 2010), a contract with the Ministry of Oil to develop the field mentioned drilling 240 wells by 2017, which allows raising the ceiling of oil production from fields Gharraf To reach 230 thousand barrels per day in 2017, but the company did not reach the production ceiling agreed to date, with an estimated current production of about 100 thousand barrels.
