    A conference organized by the Iraqi Environment and Health Society in the United Kingdom concluded: "The most significant danger facing Iraqis is environmental pollution that is no less dangerous than the security and livelihood threats and the threat of extremism and terrorism."


    The Iraqi ambassador in London, Dr. Saleh Hussein al-Tamimi, said in a speech to the conference, the need to study and address the effects of successive wars on Iraq and the environmental devastation by gangs, which today is a major challenge to the Iraqi environment and the health sector in general.


    Dr. Abdul Hamid Al-Sayeh, a member of the Iraqi Advisory Board for Reconstruction and Development in the United Kingdom, pointed to the critical circumstances of the conference due to the effects of negligence and corruption and weak treatment of major crises such as the water crisis and pollution, as well as the effects of the use of internationally prohibited weapons.


    He stressed the importance of the conference to succeed in its research and recommendations and be at the level of its subject in the diagnosis of the factors of this environmental threat and provide the necessary planning and scientific treatment and the preparation of qualified personnel in the field of environmental protection, and coordination with the media for health education and to inform citizens of the seriousness of the effects caused by environmental pollution, Legislation related to the risks to society, family and children specifically.
