    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Political analyst Adnan Al-Tamimi revealed, today, Wednesday (October 9, 2024), some of the secrets of US President Joe Biden's document regarding Iran, while indicating that the recent Iranian missile strike deep inside Israel prompted Tel Aviv to threaten a harsh response targeting the Iranian depth.
Al-Tamimi said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "There is an undeclared movement by the US administration in coordination with Tel Aviv and several Western countries to put forward the so-called White House document regarding Iran, which includes four main points. The most important point is that Iran sever its relations with all resistance factions in Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon and Syria, especially Hezbollah, withdraw its Revolutionary Guard advisors from Arab countries, and stop interfering in the internal affairs of these countries."
Al-Tamimi stressed that "these points aim to avoid three bleak scenarios prepared for Iran, which are: a broad strike that could lead to Iran losing its nuclear or gas stations, or targeting the top of the pyramid in political and security decision-making, referring to the Supreme Leader, in addition to an attempt to stir up internal unrest, especially with the presence of separatist tendencies in some Iranian provinces."
He pointed out that "there are unnatural pressures on Iran to push it to these options, with some of the targets that Tel Aviv intends to hit being leaked, in an attempt to pressure Iran to sit at the negotiating table, noting that" the outbreak of a comprehensive war does not serve the United States or its allies in the Arabian Gulf and the Arab region, as it could lead to disastrous results, in light of direct threats from the factions to target Western interests, especially the oil fields in which Western companies, especially American ones, invest hundreds of billions of dollars.
Axios quoted three US officials as saying that US President Joe Biden is expected to hold a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today, Wednesday, regarding any plans related to striking Iran.
The website quoted the officials as saying that Israel's response to the Iranian attack on it is expected to be significant, and is likely to include a combination of airstrikes on military targets in Iran, and "covert" attacks such as the attack in which former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran. One of the officials confirmed to "Axios" that the call between Biden and Netanyahu is necessary "to try to formulate the limits of the Israeli response."
"Once the decision is made (to strike Iran), Netanyahu will want to brief Biden on the matter," Axios reported, citing an aide to Netanyahu.
US officials said on Tuesday that Israel had not yet shared specific details with the United States about its military response to last week's Iranian missile attack, NBC News reported.
The sources added that even after US military officials discussed the possibility of supporting the Israeli response with intelligence or air strikes, Tel Aviv did not provide Washington with details of the expected strike.
US officials said they did not believe Israel had made a final decision on the details of its response, noting that options still under consideration related to Iran's military and intelligence infrastructure, air defenses and energy facilities.
