US President Donald Trump said he had rejected a request from Mexican President Enrique Benia Nieto on the border wall.
Trump said on Saturday the Mexican president had asked him to say Mexico would not pay for the proposed US-proposed border wall.
At a campaign rally for a Republican candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania, Trump revealed some details of a phone call with Benia Nieto last month that delayed the Mexican leader's plans to make his first White House visit.
Trump said Benya Nieto was "a really nice man" who gave his request respectfully.
"Mr. President, I want you to say that Mexico will not pay for the wall," Trump said.
"I said, 'Are you crazy, I will not do that,'" Trump said.
