Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi launched a scathing attack on the Saudi crown prince on the backdrop of his remarks to CBS television channel.
"Bin Salman's remarks do not deserve a response because he is a naïve idiot and does not say anything but bitter and deceitful words. It is only politics and politeness that speak out loud and misguided," Qassimi was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency.
"It reminds us of the ignorance of the Bedouins and brings back their empty challenges," the foreign ministry spokesman said of the Saudi crown prince's remarks.
"It is better for the country, which has failed in the face of the besieged and defenseless people of Yemen, and more than three years after its aggression has been thinner than its resistance, to avoid talking about the capabilities of its army and its economy, and to continue to be distracted by its administration," Qassimi said in a vehement tone. The wealth of his people by buying beautiful weapons and importing security for his country, and not talking more than his size with a country as capable as Iran. "
The Iranian diplomat pointed out that his country "attaches its respect to all the neighboring countries and countries of the world and different peoples, regardless of their area and military and economic capacity," adding that Tehran's calls for dialogue "and its administrations with the countries of the region, especially some of the poor and convicts," comes in the context taking into account the interests of The Islamic world and its quest to "establish peace, stability and security in the region and the world"
