In a press statement, the Director General of the Maritime Transport Company, Abdul Karim Kanhal, said that the foundation stone for the two projects is two large stations such as ancient folklore in the form of an old boat with restaurants, meeting rooms and weddings with multiple floors.

He added that it contains a helipad and a river embankment indicating that one of the two stations located on the Corniche opposite the Basra International Hotel and the other in front of the statue of the visual poet Badr Shaker al-Sayab.

For his part, the governor of Basra, Asad al-Eidani, said that the province will be to beautify the Shatt al-Arab Corniche and develop it to become a public place more after lifting the excesses in agreement with the Basra Operations Command.

For his part, the chairman of the Lebanese company executing the project, Ali Almshkour, said the company decided to turn the project into a cultural edifice containing all the vital tourist facilities in addition to a garage for cars and speedboats equipped with maritime transport to carry out domestic flights first and then external to Abadan and Kish and others.

Transport Minister Kazem Vajan al-Hammami said today that the two stations will link the ports of Iraq in Kharramshahr, Abadan, Bulbast and Arbandi Kanar in Iran. He pointed out that the boats that will be used to transport the passengers are the speedboats of the shipping company, which includes trained crews instead of Iranian vessels.
