provided Saudi Arabia on Monday, a new offer to Iraq on electric power, noting that the offer included plant construction in the Kingdom during the year of the signing of the agreement produces 3,000 megawatts to supply Iraq .

It quoted Russia today for the official spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity Musab secret as saying that " the deal, which was not approved by the Baghdad so far, including plant construction in the Kingdom during the year of the signing of the agreement produces 3,000 megawatts to supply Iraq with it."
The spokesman added that "Iraq under this deal will buy electricity at $ 21 per megawatt-hour, a quarter of what Iraq pays for electricity supplies from Iran ."

Protests erupted in Iraq a month ago, fueled by anger at the deterioration of the provision of services to citizens, including water and electric power, especially after Iran stopped, because of the accumulation of debt on Baghdad, the supply of electricity to this country.

Iraq imports electricity from Iran to cover part of the country's energy shortages for years, with energy infrastructure being destroyed and destroyed by decades of war and siege.
