The Minister of Justice: Iraq has achieved a great move in the human rights file despite the exceptional circumstances

Justice Minister Haidar al-Zamili said on Thursday that Iraq has achieved a major change in the human rights record despite the exceptional circumstances that the country is undergoing in the war on terrorism.
A statement from the Ministry of Justice said Zamili received in his official office the head of the international investigation team formed by UN Security Council Resolution 2379, Karim Asad Khan. The meeting reviewed the UN Security Council resolution on investigation and the collection and preservation of evidence and working in a team of Iraqis and experts in international law Human rights and human rights.
During the meeting, the minister said that the Ministry of Justice has worked on collecting and writing reports on cases of violations including crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by an organization calling on the terrorist against all sects of the Iraqi people.
Zamili stressed the need to provide support in the preparation of legislation, in particular the draft international crimes law, in addition to a concerted efforts to assist the international team in the investigations to provide evidence available to him.
For his part, the head of the investigation team valued the great role played by the Ministry of Justice in dealing with the human rights issue through the writing of reports and the international commitments made by the ministry and following up the international agreements in this regard.
