In cooperation with the Central Bank and the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, the United Nations Development Organization (UNDP) organized a seminar on Wednesday to discuss the SME loan initiative at the Al Mahatta Hall for Entrepreneurship.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the Central Bank, the Association of Banks and a number of private banks contributing to the initiative as well as entrepreneurs for entrepreneurship.
"The SME loan initiative was launched by the Central Bank in 2015 to support the youth sector and stimulate them to create jobs by allocating one trillion dinars by the Central Bank as loans to banks," said Ahmed Ibrahim, head of the initiative committee at the Central Bank of Egypt. Which is part of the initiative, "noting that" the aim of the initiative to establish quality economic projects pilot and not classic projects. "
"The central bank is seeking to empower more young unemployed people to take advantage of this initiative and turn to the private sector," Ibrahim said.
For his part, the banking adviser of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks Samir Nusairi, "The Association with the participation of the Central Bank are working on the development of visions and strategic plans to activate the work of the initiative and the establishment of new rules and conditions to facilitate the granting of loans to beneficiaries."
He pointed out that "one of the priorities of the Association is to pay attention to the graduates and provide employment opportunities to them by supporting their projects with the participation of the private banking sector."
