Eidani proposes to the government to pay a "pollution allowance" to the people of Basra

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Governor Asaad al-Eidani presented Monday a proposal to the government to pay a "pollution allowance" to citizens for damages caused by environmental pollution related to the oil industry.
Al-Eidani said in a press statement that "our proposal provides for the payment of pollution allowance for Iraqi citizens from the people of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]because the environmental pollution resulting from oil extraction and export operations is greater than some believe, and it is necessary to present the relevant facts to the House of Representatives."
He added that "the distribution of compensation to citizens can be in the form of instruments issued on the basis of the ration card, and is disbursed through banks."
