While the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi has not yet had a "cabal" crisis, the differences have spread to local governments, especially in Basra and Baghdad, against the background of the ongoing struggle to elect a new governor in both provinces.

In Baghdad, there are no signs yet for the political crisis to be resolved during next Tuesday's session by voting on the remaining eight ministers, led by the mysterious candidate for Interior Minister Faleh al-Fayadh. The leader of the Fatah alliance, Hadi al-Amiri, swore last week to the right that his coalition did not nominate Fayadh for the post of interior minister, but is the choice of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi. The response came quickly from Abdul Mahdi, who said, during his weekly press conference, that Fayadh candidate political blocs, not his candidate.

In parallel to the crisis of the federal government, the crisis of local government, represented by the provincial councils, which is a reflection of the crisis of the political blocs, is developing towards the election of two new governors in both Baghdad and Basra after the two governors (Atwan al-Atwani, Governor of Baghdad, The Iraqi parliament, without taking the oath of office, has continued to exercise their functions as conservatives, but they hold two seats in parliament.

The Baghdad Provincial Council, which has been able to reform the bloc in the provincial council to elect a new governor of the capital belongs to the Sadrist movement, two problems: First, the failure of the former governor to resign to join the parliament, and the second declaration of inclusion Council member who presided over the election process accountability and justice. But Al-Atwani's construction coalition has appealed to the federal court to thwart the election of the new governor.

In Basra, the council failed to hold a full session to elect a replacement governor for the current governor of the parliamentary elections, As'ad al-Eidani, the last of which was yesterday, as the Council was unable to hold a new session.

"The position of governor of Basra is not concerned with the political agreements that are taking place in Baghdad, and if it is my position as a parliamentarian, I am ready to give up the membership of parliament in exchange for my stay as governor of Basra, to serve the people of my province," he said.

He added: "My exit from the post will not be by arms or side agreements, but by law." He pointed out that "the recent financial control report confirmed the absence of any financial irregularities in Basra since I took office," noting that "there are parties that want the position distorted Financial irregularities and receiving bribes from third parties.
