Iraq confirms its commitment to international treaties on the prevention of racial discrimination

Iraq affirmed its continuous efforts to achieve progress in the field of human rights, the elimination and prevention of all forms of racial discrimination and its commitment to international treaties and conventions in this field.

Zuhairi added that "legislative procedures are continuing to reach an appropriate formula for the draft law on the protection of diversity and the prevention of discrimination through holding workshops in which the House of Representatives, civil society organizations, legal experts, academics and others."
"The liberation of the areas from the control of the terrorist and the efforts to restore services and the lifting of mines and remnants of war and the clearing of roads and housing, contributed significantly to the return of displaced persons to their areas of origin and ended the period of suffering that followed the occupation of these areas by gangs," he said.
