79 deputies submitted a formal request for the presidency of the House of Representatives includes the extension of the provincial councils, while calling for the transfer of the authority of supervision and control of local governments to the House of Representatives until the provincial elections.
The text of the request that "the Legal Committee in the House of Representatives for its fourth session began to discuss the amendment of the election law [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/7983/%D9%85%D8%AC%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B3 %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%81%D8%B8%D8%A7%D8%AA]provincial councils that are[/url] irregular in the region and scheduled for the 22 of December 2018, and after that date become the [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/7983/%D9%85%D8%AC%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B3 %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%81%D8%B8%D8%A7%D8%AA]provincial councils[/url] irregular in the province has no legal cover and only Article (61) Of the Iraqi constitution (control over the performance of the executive authority), we see no extension of it and until the holding of new elections to the provincial council will exercise the role of the control of the local governments in the provinces according to the above article.
The demand is attributed to the following reasons:
1 - reduce the financial expenditures of salaries and protections and wheels and other and other and recycling of service sectors, especially that the development plans in the federal budget law for the year 2019 tend to reduce operating expenses.
2 - Relieve the pressure on service department managers in the informal and necessary use of mechanisms and human resources for electoral purposes.
3 - Stop intersections and political bickering between the councils and governors, which reflect negatively on the provision of services to citizens and waste in public money and extortion.
4. Equal opportunities among citizens in local elections
