An official source said Wednesday that the Integrity Commission issued an order to arrest the governor of Kirkuk, Rakan Jubouri, on charges of corruption.
The National Union's media quoted three private sources as saying that the Kirkuk office of the Integrity Commission issued an arrest warrant for Kirkuk Governor Rakan al-Jubouri.
According to the sources, the arrest warrant against al-Jubouri was based on article 340 of the Iraqi Penal Code on corruption.
According to the sources, a police force of the Integrity Commission entered the building of Kirkuk province in order to arrest Jubouri, but he was not arrested because of his presence in Baghdad.
She said that if Rakan al-Jubouri was taken to court for corruption, he would be arrested, as was the case with investment managers and endowments in Kirkuk.
