BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said on Monday that Iraq is keen to benefit from the South Korean experience in developing its economic and service sectors.
"The latter received at his office this morning the advisor of South Korean President Hang Pyeong-do and his accompanying delegation, which includes the vice president of Hyundai Construction Co., the chairman of Kai Air Industries, The Foreign Ministry and the Korean ambassador in Baghdad. "
"Iraq is proud of its relations with South Korea and the Iraqi citizen is confident in the Korean industries and we are interested in cooperating for the benefit of the two countries and operating the largest number of Iraqi workers, graduates and engineers in the South Korean companies and transferring their diverse expertise to Iraq," Abdul Mahdi said. Korean response to the establishment of a heart disease hospital for children, and the specialized health centers needed by Iraq.
And the developments "in Iraq and the government is directed to encourage construction and attract investment and modern technology."
"The Korean official conveyed the greetings of the South Korean President and Prime Minister, expressing his solidarity with the Iraqi people and the victims of the ferry in Mosul," the statement said.
The president and members of the Korean delegation expressed "their desire to develop relations and transfer the necessary expertise and technology to Iraq and to open factories for the Korean automakers in Iraq and the use of spare parts from the Iraqi market and the achievement of e-government system, which is South Korea a leading country."
The statement said that "there are specialized Korean teams in coordination with the Iraqi Iraqi authorities to locate the heart hospital for children, in addition to a site to collect cars, and to prepare fully to respond to the demands of the Prime Minister to develop sectors of health, agriculture and roads and housing and schools in a quick manner, "The absorption of the refinery in Karbala for 5,000 Iraqi workers."
