Hatami: Iran's military support for Iraq is a long-term strategy

Iranian Defense Minister Amir Hatami stressed the importance of enhancing the defense capability and structure of Iraqi military and security forces in the face of threats, saying that strengthening the defense structure of Iraq is one of the basic strategies of his country.
Iranian Defense Minister Yassin Taher al-Yassiri said Sunday that there are various issues at the same time in the security relations between the two countries that require both sides to hold continuous talks with each other because the Iraqi Interior Ministry is a security institution and plays an important role in ensuring The security and stability of Iraq and thus the security of the region.

He pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the first country to stand by the Iraqi people in its war against ISIS, pointing out that the common interests require that the two countries strengthen their relations at various levels.
