The presidency of parliament calls Abdul-Mahdi this urgent matter

The first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives Adel Abdul Mahdi, on Friday, called on Prime Minister Adel [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/82334/%D8%B9%D8%A8%D8%AF %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D9%87%D8%AF%D9%8A]Abdul Mahdi[/url] to listen to the demands of the demonstrators and open an urgent investigation of the events of the demonstrations.
Al-Kaabi said in a statement that "the House of Representatives expresses the legislative authority's support for the right of peaceful demonstrations in Baghdad and the provinces as long as they are in accordance with the Constitution and the law," calling on the Prime Minister to "open an urgent and fair investigation of yesterday's events and listen to the legitimate demands of demonstrators and respond to them."
He added that "the Presidency of the Council of Representatives has already directed the parliamentary committees of security, defense and human rights to open a parliamentary investigation into the events that took place yesterday, and today, both commenced all procedures to preserve the rights and demands of all the people."
He expressed "deep regret over the loss of life and injuries among unarmed civilians and security forces, despite constant assurances that violence and live bullets should not be used and that public and private demonstrations and property should be kept peaceful."
Al-Kaabi said that "the security forces of various formations and classes have a role in the preservation of public and private property and a responsibility in maintaining the security and safety of demonstrators, and not to allow any party to exploit and distort the demonstrations from its main and legitimate destination."
He called the first deputy speaker of the parliament, health institutions to "speed up the ambulance of the injured and provide all required treatments to them."
