(International: Al Furat News) The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Tunisia, Salim Khalbous, submitted, on Saturday, his resignation from his position at the head of the ministry.
The ministry said in a statement that Khalbous submitted his resignation from the post of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to assume a new position outside the country.
She added that after his resignation from his post, Minister of Education Hatim bin Salem received the reins of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Presidency of the Government had announced that the caretaker head, Youssef El-Shahed, had decided to entrust the Minister of Education, Hatem bin Salem, with the conduct of the ministry's work.
Tunisian media said that the resigned Minister of Higher Education, Selim Khalbous, has taken over his new duties at the head of the Francophone University Agency (AUF) in Canada, in a state that lasts 4 years, renewable once.
The Francophone University Agency indicated that it had succeeded the successor to the French university student, Jean-Paul de Godmar, who had been elected since 2015.
The former Tunisian minister will oversee the administrative management of the agency, which was established 60 years ago and is one of the leading international organizations for higher education and has 990 members from 118 countries.
It is worth noting that on August 20, 2016, Khalbous was appointed Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the government of Youssef El-Shahed. He holds a Ph.D. Politics of Toulouse, finished
