Egyptian Central Bank Governor Tareq Amer revealed that his country rejected an offer from the International Monetary Fund to provide new financing.
Amer added in a television interview: “We are currently speaking with the fund but not in financing because we do not need financing .. We needed the first financing and no one wanted to lend us, but we do not need financing now, even if we need financing we go directly to the international market and not the fund ”
Amer pointed out that his country would use the fund "in terms of experience in the structural reforms program to increase the efficiency of the performance of state institutions," adding that "the fund offered us funding, but we refused and we said we do not want, we do not need funding."
Egypt signed a loan from the International Monetary Fund worth 12 billion dollars at the end of 2016 and obtained the total loan in installments, the last of which was last year. End 2
