The Presidency of the Republic announced, on Saturday, that the appointment of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi to head the new government will be announced in an official statement.
The official Iraqi channel, quoting the presidency, stated that "the appointment of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi will be announced in an official statement."
Earlier, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi announced that he was formally assigned to head the new government.
Allawi said, through a video, posted on his Facebook wall, that the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, had assigned him a little while ago to form a new government.
He called for "continuing the demonstrations until the demands are met, the killers are held accountable, and the early elections are held." 25 h has ended
