On Tuesday, Minister of Planning Khaled Battal Najm announced his ministry's intention to implement laws that contribute to increasing the country's imports, including the customs tariff law and the activation of taxes.

"The government is working to implement many laws that directly affect the life of the citizen, and at the same time contribute to increasing the state's imports, especially in this difficult circumstance," Petal said in a press interview with "Al-Iqtisad News".

He added that among those laws is the customs tariff law and the activation of taxes on companies operating in Iraq, such as mobile phone companies, and all matters related to taxes and others, and include them in the federal budget law.

On the conduct of the census, the Minister of Planning stressed that "this week will see a meeting to discuss the file of conducting the census with the relevant committee to determine the details of work and its obstacles."

Petal pointed out that "the meeting will learn about the preparations reached with those committees, through which some details can be clarified regarding this file," noting that "this file needs significant financial allocations that cannot be provided at present."
