The National Approach bloc criticized, on Wednesday, the duplication of government decisions to raise the price of the dollar under the pretext of protecting the national product, indicating that customs exemptions for Jordanian goods are the best evidence of the lack of sincerity of government intentions to protect the local product.
"The government is not serious about taking steps to protect the local product, and the decision to raise the price of the dollar has destroyed the local product, since the raw materials are imported," Jamal Al-Muhammadawi, a representative of the national approach, said.
He added, "The government claims to raise the exchange rate for the dollar is due to the deficit and the decrease in oil, and the latter has resumed, which means that there is no need to raise the price."
Al-Muhammadawi explained that "the second governmental pretext is to protect the national product, raising the price of the dollar," noting that "the claim is incorrect, and the evidence for it is government exemptions for Jordanian goods."
