"When there is confirmation of permanent staffing, contracts will be the priority," Al-Oqabi told Al-Furat News, noting that "the confirmation is from engineers to administrators and technicians (...)."

And the member of the parliamentary energy added: "The ministry does not resort to new employees, as it has a surplus in the staff."

The Ministry of Electricity announced last year that it needed more than 54 billion dinars to pay the salaries of more than 100,000 employees working on contracts and on a daily basis.
