Today, Saturday, the governor of Qasr Shirin (western Iran), Murad Ali Tatar, announced the lifting of the ban imposed on the movement of travelers from the official borders of the Parvizakhan port with Iraq, as the entry and exit of travelers from these borders to the Kurdistan region of Iraq resumed, while adhering to health protocols.
Tatar said, in a statement carried by Mehr News Agency, that "Iran had previously imposed a ban on the movement of travelers, at the Parvizkhan border port with the Kurdistan region of Iraq, due to the Corona virus, and it was lifted as of today, according to the decision of the National Committee to Combat Corona Virus."
Tatar added that "passengers who intend to travel to the Kurdistan region of Iraq can go to these borders directly, and there is no longer a need for the traveler to obtain a permit from the mayor of Qasr Shirin to cross the border."
And the governor of Qasr Shirin city stated, "All travelers are subject to a medical examination at the border point and before crossing the border to be sure that they are free of viral diseases, especially Corona, as patients are prevented from entering the country."
Tatar added, "The abolition of passenger transit restrictions is only for the borders of Parvizkhan, and the movement of travelers from the official Khosravi borders is still prohibited, and travelers are prohibited from crossing in any way."
He added, "The commercial exchange through the Shirin Palace ports is taking place in accordance with health protocols, and to combat the Corona virus, drivers and trucks carrying export goods are monitored at the official borders of Broizkhan, with strict observance of health instructions at the commercial outlets of the Khosrwa region as well."
The governor of Qasr Shirin indicated that "more than 700 trucks of goods cross daily from the official borders of Parvizkhan to the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and more than 300 trucks of export goods cross from the official borders of Khosravi to other regions of Iraq, taking into account the health instructions on the borders."
He pointed out that "more than 9,400 travelers entered the country from the borders of Parviz Khan, and 10,400 travelers left for Iraq from February to April 2021, according to health protocols, with a total of 7,600 foreign travelers who entered and exited through the Parviz Khan port."
The population of Qasr Shirin, west of Kermanshah, is more than 27,000. It borders Iraq with 618 km of common borders, and along these borders there are two border crossings: Khosravi and Parvizkhan.
