    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works managed, during the past year of its life, according to the government program, to harness the capabilities of its affiliated companies in the production of concrete sections and iron sections included in the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of dozens of road, bridge and infrastructure projects implemented on them in several provinces.
    The Ministry's media center stated in a press interview, "As part of the measures to address economic and financial challenges, the ministry's specialized companies have carried out rehabilitation and maintenance operations for their workshops and concrete plants to ensure maximum utilization of them to meet the needs of projects implemented by the ministry, in addition to manufacturing many Specialized iron sections, especially those used in the reconstruction of damaged buildings and bridges in the liberated areas and the rest of the country, as a contribution to maximizing their resources by relying on the national effort.
    The Department of Roads and Bridges, one of the Ministry's formations, has drawn up annual plans to improve and expand the road and bridge network in line with the increase in the number of vehicles and users of the transport network and commercial traffic.
    A study has also been prepared for strategic projects that cover a number of basic axes in the road and bridge network by offering 11 projects as an investment opportunity, including the construction of the road linking Baghdad and the Bismayah residential complex with a length of 20 km, and the construction of the Al-Madaen Bridge and Road, the fourth ring road to the city of Baghdad with a length of 94 km To facilitate traffic from all governorates to the capital without entering the regions, and the construction of the Al-Qurayat Suspension Bridge with its approaches 2.6 km (connecting both sides of Karkh and Rusafa), Highway No. 2 with a length of 508 km (Baghdad - Salah al-Din - Diyala - Erbil - Nineveh - Dohuk), the roads leading to the Arar border crossing are 380 km, Karbala-Baghdad, the construction of Highway No. 3, with a length of 235 km, and the beneficiary governorates (Wasit- Babil- Karbala- Baghdad).
    As well as the construction of the Hawally road in Karbala 66.5 km to facilitate the entry of visitors from all governorates on religious occasions, the Hawally road to the city of Hilla with a length of 36 km (Babylon - Najaf - Karbala - Diwaniyah - Baghdad), the implementation of the road linking Highway No. 1 and the city of Karbala With a length of 17.5 km, the completion of the 8 km extension of the city of Tuz Khurmatu (Salah al-Din - Baghdad - Diyala - Kirkuk).
