The Ministry of Communications announced, on Saturday, that it has started the installation of light beams for the companies implementing the (Baghdad Metro) project within the Rusafa side, whose task is to control the Internet capacities entering the country centrally through optical cables at very low costs, which stops the smuggling of capacities, and will end the random extension of optical cables. The Director of Relations and Media in the Directorate of Rusafa Communications Bassam Jabbar Muhammad said, "The installation work for the packages implemented by the technical and engineering staff of the Directorate, will extend from the Jadiriyah switch to the headquarters of the main center for optical cable in Karrada within the metro project, after conducting a site inspection of the switch to start installing its devices. “.
He added that "the directorate is working to overcome all obstacles to passing the capacities of the metro project, to ensure the stability of the service provided to citizens and institutions benefiting from its services," revealing that "the directorate has completed the work of linking one of its sites optically within the proactive plan prepared for the aforementioned project."
Muhammad revealed that “a malfunction occurred in the path (Upper - Al-Sinak) caused by the excavations of the service departments in the Karrada area, which is one of the optical cable paths within the project of the optical access network (metro) with a capacity of 48 hairs in the path linking the upper and Al-Sinak exchanges, and the pieces were identified by a maintenance authority.
