    The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, confirmed, on Friday, that Iraq continues its war against terrorist cells and to consolidate its security and stability.

    A statement by the President's Information Office, of which "Nass" received a copy, stated that "President Saleh received, at his residence in New York, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings."  
    The statement indicated that "during the meeting, they discussed the growing Iraqi-French relations and ways to develop them in various fields, including economic and trade, and the French contribution to supporting Iraq in the fight against terrorism and humanitarian aid."  
    Saleh stressed that "Iraq looks forward to the support of friends and allies in order to enhance its security, ensure its stability and the well-being of its people, work to defuse crises in the region, and emphasize Iraq's vital role in this," noting that "Iraq continues its war against terrorist cells and to consolidate its security, stability and openness." Economic and commercial work, and working closely in the field of environmental protection and addressing the significant impacts of climate change at the national level and in regional and international coordination.  
    For his part, Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian stressed "his country's commitment to support the security and stability of Iraq, and to consolidate its great efforts to ease regional tensions and the need for Iraq to return to its pivotal role in it, and to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two countries."
