    The Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, received the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad, Ali Riza Konai. During the meeting, they discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two neighboring countries and the desire of Turkish companies to implement projects and invest in the oil and energy sector. 
    As well as joint cooperation in rehabilitating the strategic line transporting crude oil between the two countries, and working to enhance investment opportunities for Turkish companies in Iraq, in addition to discussing the project of linking services for transporting goods from the south to the north through the port of Faw (under implementation) and the integration of the project with Taqat Discharge of Gulf ports and the importance of creating a safe path for road and rail transport services, as well as the possibility of Iraq's role in transporting gas from the Gulf to Turkey and Europe.
    The Minister of Oil said that Iraq is keen to provide the appropriate investment environment for international companies, referring to the distinguished historical relations between Baghdad and Ankara, stressing Iraq's keenness to continue and strengthen them in a manner that serves the common interests of the two friendly countries.
    For his part, the Turkish ambassador expressed the desire of his country's government to develop bilateral relations in all fields, especially the oil and energy sector, and the desire of Turkish companies to work in Iraq, promote and develop investment opportunities, and work to expand the horizons of joint cooperation with Iraq.
