The Election Security Committee in Erbil agreed, on Sunday, on three procedures related to polling day.
The official agency stated, "The security committee headed by the governor of Erbil, Omid Khoshnaw, held a meeting today to discuss and develop security plans for the special and general voting days, in the presence of the director of the commission in Erbil."
She added, "It was agreed to create a calm and appropriate environment on polling day, to abide by the decisions and recommendations of the Kurdistan Supreme Security Committee, and to stress that all security means should be taken to hold free and fair elections in Erbil."
On September 9, the Supreme Security Committee for the Protection of Elections, headed by Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, held a security meeting in Erbil to discuss securing the elections, in the presence of the Minister of Interior of Kurdistan, the police chiefs of the provinces of the region and the relevant authorities.
