    {Economic: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Planning announced, today, Monday, that 31% of the factories affiliated with the Ministry of Industry have stopped, while explaining that half of these factories depend on “liquid water” as the main source of used water.
    The Central Bureau of Statistics, affiliated to the Ministry of Planning, stated in a report that "the number of companies affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals from the public and mixed sectors during the year 2020 amounted to 42 companies, while the number of its affiliated laboratories reached 225, and what is suspended exceeded 31%."
    The agency added, "Almost half of these plants depend on liquefied water as the main source of water used in industrial processes, at a rate of 49.3%, while sewage networks were the most used disposal destination by laboratories, at a rate of 40%."
    He pointed out that "these laboratories constituted a great burden on both the water and sewage sectors," noting that "the number of laboratories from the engineering, food, pharmaceutical and textile sectors generates hazardous industrial waste, with 16 laboratories, 12 of which belong to the engineering sector, one food and pharmaceutical laboratory, and 3 laboratories affiliated to the sector." tissue".
    And the Central Bureau of Statistics continued, "The total quantities generated from the aforementioned factories amounted to 2.5 tons / month, and the amount of hazardous waste generated from the engineering sector represented the highest percentage, at 1.7 tons / month, and the lowest from the food and pharmaceutical sector, at 65 kg / month."
