The Sadrist Movement: We discussed with the leader Barzani and put the points on the letters
Shafaq News/ The Sadrist movement disclosed, on Tuesday, the details of its talks with Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani, during the meeting he held in Erbil.
The Sadrist movement said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "The head of the Sadrist negotiating delegation, Hassan al-Adhari, met with Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani during an official visit to the Kurdistan Region. ?
The statement quoted Al-Adhari as stressing "the necessity of forming a national majority government with the participation of the winning parliamentary blocs, as well as creating a strong opposition under the dome of Parliament."
The statement pointed out that "the meeting took place in a positive and optimistic atmosphere, as well as the two parties' stress on the importance of putting points on letters and striving to save the homeland."
And earlier today, Tuesday, the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the largest party in the Kurdistan Region, mortgaged its position on forming the new federal government with the outcomes of the talks between the two political poles of the Shiite forces in Iraq represented by the Sadrist movement, and the coordination framework.
"So far, we do not support any party, whether the Sadrist movement or the coordination framework," party spokesman Mahmoud Muhammad said in a press conference held today after a meeting with the Sadrist movement's delegation. "We must be partners and a cornerstone in the next government."
He added, "The Sadrist movement supports the formation of a national majority government, and the framework is with a political majority, and we are waiting during these two days to where the results of their talks will reach."
Regarding the meeting to be held between the two main parties in the Kurdistan Democratic Region and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Muhammad said: We have a common vision with the Patriotic Union and a common project, but we need to update relations to find a Kurdish working paper to discuss with the Sunni and Shiite parties in Baghdad.
On the positions, the KDP spokesman said that the issue of distributing them between the two parties is not within the powers of the committee that will meet tomorrow, but rather within the authority of the two political offices, and they will decide these positions, including the position of the President of the Republic.
