{Political: Al Furat News} The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, congratulated today, Thursday, the Iraqi army on the anniversary of its founding.
Saleh said in a tweet to him on Twitter: "A proud salute to the Iraqi army on its founding day, recalling its heroic exploits to defend the homeland and defeat terrorism."
He added, "Our duty is to support it with the high status it deserves, as a national constitutional institution that protects the security of Iraqis, and to prevent the return of the tyranny that has plunged it into politics, absurd wars and persecution."
