The head of the World Health Organization on Monday urged the countries of the world to work together to end the critical phase of the Corona pandemic, saying that they now have all the tools available to do so.
"The COVID-19 pandemic is now entering its third year and we are at a critical juncture... We must work together to end the critical phase of this epidemic," Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a news conference with German Development Minister Svenja Schulze. We cannot allow it to continue while we are shivering between panic and neglect.”
And Tedros warned Monday of the danger of assuming that the highly infectious mutant “Omicron” is the last mutated version of the Corona virus, and that the world is in the “last game of the game.”

But he added that this year is likely to be the year of exit from the acute phase of the epidemic, if strategies and tools such as virus testing and prevention vaccines are comprehensively implemented.
Nevertheless, he said, "the conditions are perfect for more mutant cells to emerge."
