The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, strongly condemned the missile attack in Erbil.
An official statement, seen by Mawazine News, stated that targeting Erbil was a "cowardly, brutal and unjustified method."
According to the statement, Barzani expressed his sympathy with "the beloved citizens of Erbil, who spent a difficult time in light of anxiety and anticipation."
The statement called on all parties and components of Kurdistan to "cohesion, unity and reunification", in order to "face challenges, threats and dangers."
Barzani considered targeting Erbil in this way and its repetition, "a dangerous precedent and a flagrant violation of the security, stability and sovereignty of Iraq," adding that its results "will only complicate the situation and harm the present and future of all of Iraq."
Barzani called on the Iraqi federal government and the international community to "stand diligently on these attacks and make all efforts so that violations of the sovereignty and stability of the country and the security and safety of its citizens are not allowed again." Ended 29/N33
