Today, Monday, the Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) announced that the management of oil and gas fields in the Kurdistan region will be subject to the authority of the Federal Ministry of Oil and in cooperation with the authorities of the region.
SOMO confirmed that the Ministry of Oil has taken all necessary steps to implement the decision of the Federal Court, which was issued last February, and in line with the text of the Federal Court decision, which invalidated the oil and gas law for the region and invalidated all contracts concluded by the Kurdistan region without the approval of the federal government, indicating its official position since The beginning is to warn companies that deal with the Kurdistan region without the approval of the central government and the Ministry of Oil, and to consider all the agreements they conclude with the region illegal.
