Earth News/ The head of the Social Protection Authority, Hoda Sajjad Mahmoud, called today, Tuesday, to add more than one trillion dinars to its allocations in the emergency food security law.
A statement by the authority, received by Earth News, stated, "Huda Sajjad, met with members of the Parliamentary Finance Committee," calling during the meeting "the necessity of adding a trillion and (216) billion dinars in the authority's allocations in the emergency food security law in order to bridge the financial deficit and include more than (300) families surveyed and included in the authority’s database, representing the long-awaited eighth meal.”
And she added, “The government and the parliament should take into account that the Protection Authority represents the first line of prevention to reduce poverty and combat the consequences and effects of economic crises on the most vulnerable groups in society,” noting that “the addition of the amount must be withdrawn to the authority’s allocations in the 2022 budget.”
