A representative of Basra revealed a meeting soon to end the problem of the owners of factories and crushers in the Zubair district, pointing to the need to allocate lands to them in coordination with the relevant authorities and to provide infrastructure for them, stressing that many important projects depend on these factories, such as the Basra port project.
The representative of the province, Ali Shaddad, said, "We gathered with the owners of factories and crushers in Al-Zebar district, in which we listened to their demands."
Shaddad continued, in a radio interview that was followed by (Al-Mada), that "there are observations made by the Basra Oil Company that the lands on which they work are legally transgressed."
He pointed out that "their demands are not difficult for the Iraqi state, and they are not difficult for the Basra Oil Company to manage, and they need concerted efforts from all relevant parties."
Shaddad explained, "There are three parties concerned with solving the problems of factory owners, which are the Basra Oil Company affiliated to the Ministry of Oil and the State Real Estate Department of the Ministry of Finance, as well as the local administration in Basra."
He finds, "The demands are clear to allocate alternative lands to the current encroached lands in order to completely end this problem."
And Shaddad, "The new lands are supposed to be equipped with services, water and paving roads, and it is the responsibility of the local administration in Basra, which must perform its duty to the fullest in this field."
He spoke about "the presence of some detainees in the custody of the security forces through judicial decisions based on lawsuits filed by the Basra Oil Company."
Shaddad pointed out that "the coming days will witness a meeting that brings us together with the Basra Oil Company, in the presence of representatives of the owners of factories and nuts."
He continues, "The Al Bateen site is very rich and can be invested in laboratories, in addition to other sites that can be benefited from."
Shaddad continues, "These factories are the only ones in Basra Governorate to produce gravel, sand and the rest of the materials that are included in most civil works and all mega projects in Basra Governorate are approved."
He stated, "Among the projects that benefit from the factories are the Grand Faw port project, the refinery project, and most of the oil and electrical projects based on the gravel, sand and other materials produced by these factories."
Shaddad added, "There is another requirement that all stakeholders and businessmen who work in factories and crushers join the Iraqi Federation of Industries, as it will protect them and give them licenses to practice the profession."
Shaddad concluded, "This measure will provide this segment with a legal cover that protects them from the Basra Oil Administration, the relevant authorities, and the executive authority, which they suffered due to legal prosecutions and arrest warrants."
He called on the owners of crusher plants and gravel quarries in the Zubair district to find radical solutions to their problems, which are related to finding alternative lands to their current locations, as well as stopping the legal lawsuits filed against them by the Basra Oil Company and the delivery of services such as water and electricity and paving roads for alternative lands to their current locations.
