The Council of Ministers, during its session held today, Saturday, issued several decisions.
And the media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement, "Al-Kazemi chaired the twenty-fifth regular session of the Council of Ministers, during which the overall general situation in the country was discussed, and the most prominent economic and service issues were discussed."
Al-Kazemi was briefed on "the measures taken by the government earlier, to confront the global economic crisis, mitigate its repercussions on the living situation of citizens, and continue the government to stand on the developments of the crisis and take decisions whenever necessary."
The statement continued, "The Council of Ministers discussed the current situation of electricity, and the challenges facing the electrical system throughout Iraq due to the significant rise in temperatures, and the efforts of the Ministry of Electricity in facing that."
He pointed out that "in order to alleviate the burdens on citizens due to the shortage of electricity supply, the Cabinet approved a number of recommendations related to increasing the supply of private generator owners with fuel and reducing its price, according to the following:
First / Further to Cabinet Resolution No. (159) of 2022, according to which the price of fuel supplied to owners of private generators was reduced by (250) dinars per liter, and for the purpose of providing citizens with electricity for all hours of interruption of electric power supplied from the national grid, it was decided that the Ministry of Oil would increase the amount of fuel Equipped for the owners of private generators for the months specified by the aforementioned decision, so that the processing is according to the cut-off hours (that is, the greater the cut-off hours, the greater the quantity of the supply of the private generators), and in a manner that ensures the continuation of providing citizens with electric power continuously, at a rate not exceeding 3 liters / KV , for each cut-off hour , according to the reports of the Electricity Distribution Directorate in the governorate and the head of the administrative unit, provided that the cut-off hours are set for administrative units and not at the governorate level.
Second / A - The Ministry of Oil will open outlets in all (the governorates that are not organized in a region), to sell gas oil / kerosene to owners of private generators to meet their fuel needs.
B - The Ministry of Oil has opened the registration for unregistered private generators to include them in the kerosene quota according to the needs of the new residential neighborhoods, and with the support of a technical committee composed by the governorate’s governor.
Third, the Joint Operations Command, with representatives of the governorates and all security and sectoral bodies, assumes the task of controlling and organizing the transfer of oil derivatives between the governorates and within each governorate, to control the procedures for transporting fuel to the owners of private generators, as well as to combat smuggling of oil.
Fourth / The National Security Agency follows up on citizens' complaints, monitors generator owners' violations when supplying electricity to citizens for less than the hours specified for each governorate compared to the quantities of fuel supplied to them, and takes legal action against violators.
The statement continued, "The Council hosted the Governor of the Central Bank, where the report on combating money laundering and terrorist financing was discussed, and the Council agreed on the following:
- Approval of the fourth annual report of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Council for the year 2021, attached to linking the letter of the Central Bank / Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Council No. (36) on April 26, 2022, based on the provisions of Article (7/fourteenth) of the Anti-Money Laundering Law Money and Terrorism Financing (39 of 2015), taking into account the continuation of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Office to take the necessary measures to combat money laundering and terrorist financing in coordination with the regulatory authorities.
He stressed that the session witnessed a review of the epidemiological report and the procedures of the Ministry of Health; In the face of the Corona pandemic, and its efforts to follow up the large increase in injuries, by preparing hospitals, providing the necessary treatments and medical supplies, and securing vaccines in all health outlets.
The Council of Ministers discussed the topics on the agenda, and issued the following decisions:
First / Finance the Ministry of Finance an amount of (3,000,000) dinars, only three billion dinars to the Ministry of the Interior per month to fill the salary deficit of the Diwan of the Interior Center, in implementation of paragraphs (1 and 2) mentioned in the Federal Financial Supervision Office book No. (1/1/15/2443). ) of February 3, 2021.
Second / In order to support the institutional security work, the Council of Ministers decided to allocate a sum of money to support the National Security Agency by establishing headquarters for them in various governorates, to perform their duties in an optimal manner.
Third / The Council of Ministers decided to add a paragraph to its previous decision on June 28, 2022 regarding the appointment of medical and health professionals, so that the amended paragraph becomes as follows: The Minister of Finance will create the degrees and job titles necessary to appoint those covered by the aforementioned description, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research is authorized to appoint twenty graduates from the first quarter of Graduates of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, ten graduates from the first quarter of graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the first three graduates of nursing faculties, while the Minister of Health appoints the rest of those mentioned in the first paragraph of the cabinet decision concerned with appointing medical and health professionals after the Federal Service Council takes over The necessary procedures for their appointment, according to the needs of the two ministries, and in a manner that does not conflict with paragraph 1 of this decision.
Fourth / Allocating an amount of (1.5) billion dinars to the holy governorate of Karbala, according to the Cabinet Resolution (15 of 2022) to support the provision of services to visitors. The Council also voted to facilitate the procedures for establishing the Najaf Governorate Gates Project.
Fifth / authorizing the Ministry of Defense to spend an amount allocated to secure the requirements of military colleges.
Sixth / authorizing the Ministry of Agriculture to activate the agricultural calendar for a period of two months, starting from the date of issuing this decision.
