Iraqi politician: After today's demonstrations, the presidential election session will not be held next Saturday

The independent Iraqi politician, Muhammad Al-Ugaili, confirmed, on Wednesday, that the parliament session, which the “coordinating framework” called for to be held next Saturday in order to elect the President of the Republic, will not be held on this date.
Al-Ugaili explained, "The Sadrist movement's demonstrations today and the entry of the masses into the parliament building will postpone the parliamentary sessions to another time."
He indicated that "things may go towards calm or escalation, and this depends on the reaction and the decision that the coordinating body will take to withdraw from the nomination of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani for prime minister or to move forward with this nomination."
