A member of the Al-Hikma Movement, Rahim Al-Aboudi, said that changing the coordination framework for his candidate for prime minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, is “a very plausible matter,” noting that in return there must be a waiver by the Sadrist bloc about some conditions that are difficult to implement.

Al-Aboudi said that “there was no discussion of an alternative proposal for the coordination framework candidate for the prime minister, Muhammad Shia’a al-Sudani, in exchange for Muqtada al-Sadr’s official waiver of his conditions, but it may be one of the proposals of the head of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi al-Amiri in his initiative, which is very possible, given that al-Amiri was authorized by The coordination framework deals with positive situations,” noting that “the coordination framework is trying to push for containing the crisis.”

He explained that “all options are open, and changing the Sudanese is very possible, considering that the most important interest requires concessions, but in return there must be concessions, given that this concession is a great deal by the framework, after a very popularly acceptable candidate, political elites and parties emerged. Politicians, so giving it up so easily must be in return for a waiver by the Sadrist bloc about some conditions that are difficult to implement,” adding that “this is what we can call submitting to the will of the street and submitting to the issue of going towards solutions and not towards aggravation and escalation.”

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Judicial Council, in response to the request of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to dissolve the Iraqi Council of Representatives, by saying that the Council does not have the authority to dissolve the Council of Representatives and its tasks are specified under Article (3) of the Supreme Judicial Council Law No. 45 of 2017. Which in its entirety is related to the administration of the judiciary only and does not include any authority that allows the judiciary to interfere in the matters of the legislative or executive authorities.

These developments came after the coordination framework announced on (July 25, 2022) the nomination of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani for the position of Prime Minister, which was rejected by the Sadrist movement.

Al-Aboudi believed that “the positions will ease up little by little, considering that there are a lot of interventions and they are pouring into the issue of resolving the positions,” adding: “We have witnessed a big problem in the political scene, which is the insistence on positions and their personalization, and therefore this is what is disrupting today.”

“The Sadrist bloc’s objection to the nomination of Muhammad Shia al-Sudani could be flexible, and the Sadrist bloc could change its opinion if the coordinating framework goes in other directions, for example that there is a specific date and time limit for early elections,” according to al-Sudani, who pointed out that the “table Dialogue is more important than all interpretations or scenarios, as it will shorten the time between the political parties and the opponents, and the animosity is not a conflict of interests as much as it is a rivalry of visions in the political arena.

A member of the Wisdom Movement, indicated that “the coordinating framework is waiting for signals from the Sadrists to go in a process of changing attitudes, and Al-Amiri will not be able to go to Al-Hananah in the absence of a glimmer of hope in changing the issue of decisions and paths,” noting that “Going Al-Amiri means There is acceptance of the issue of dialogue and the possibility of a positive interaction with what Al-Amiri will present, given that there were steps, messages and mutual contacts.”

Al-Aboudi believed that “the decision will be in the hands of the Sadrist bloc if it changes its discourse and the nature of its decisions, and I think that others will change their discourse and change their performance,” he said.

Baghdad witnessed mass demonstrations on Wednesday (July 27, 2022), during which the demonstrators stormed the Iraqi parliament building, and withdrew after the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, asked them to do so. Then, on Saturday (July 30, 2022), the demonstrators returned to the Green Zone and the parliament building. The start of an open sit-in, and the coordination framework responded to the Sadrists’ demonstrations with a demonstration near the Green Zone from the side of the Muallaq Bridge, on Monday afternoon (August 1, 2022), and then withdrew from the place.

On Friday (August 12, 2022), the supporters of the Sadrist movement held a Friday prayer in the Green Zone. Supporters of the coordination framework responded to them in the afternoon of the same day with a demonstration in front of the Green Zone from the side of the suspension bridge, and then set up the sit-in tents.
