Shafaq News / The head of the Investment Authority of Kurdistan Regional Government, Muhammad Shukri, confirmed on Friday that determining the price per square meter of housing units for citizens is carried out according to criteria that are compatible with the economic reality of the majority of citizens, which is "$330" per square meter.
Shoukry said, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that "the deposit for an apartment of 80 meters will be only $4,000 for individuals, while the deposit for a 100-meter apartment will be only $5,000, and the deposit for a 120-meter apartment will be $6,000." Just".
He added: "Two years have been set for the completion of the units, and the letter to establish the units was sent this week to the investment offices of Duhok, Zakho, Soran, Sulaymaniyah, Rabrin, Garmian and Halabja."
Shoukry explained that "120,000 people have applied for housing units, and that citizens who will not get apartments in the first stage will be on the waiting list for the next stages."
The regional government had announced earlier its intention to build 20,000 housing units in Erbil for people with limited income.
