The Security Media Cell announced, on Saturday, that 19 officers and members of the force charged with providing protection for the demonstrators were injured.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the cell said, "Despite repeated calls by the security services not to allow intruders to enter the crowd, we note that there are outlaws who used illegal tools and materials during the demonstrations."
He continued: "This resulted in the injury of 19 officers and members of the force charged with securing protection for the demonstrators, while 9 civilians were injured, since the demonstrations began in Baghdad this morning until the preparation of this statement."
He pointed out, "The injuries came among the security services as a result of the use of stones, glass balls and Molotov cocktails." Ended 29/N33
