President Saleh delivers his speech during his participation in a celebration on the occasion of the Prophet's birthday in Adhamiya yesterday (Iraqi Presidency)

Iraqi President Barham Salih warned the political forces of the impatience of the Iraqis, stressing that Iraq is experiencing a pivotal moment that puts it at a crossroads.
Saleh said in a speech during his participation in the celebration held by the Sunni Endowment on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday in the city of Adhamiya, yesterday, Friday: “Our country is experiencing a pivotal moment that puts it at a crossroads, either to go back to internal conflicts and alignments, or to launch with a united will that absorbs serious challenges and meets the needs of citizens.”
Salih added that "we must recall the eloquent lessons in tolerance and coexistence from the biography of our Prophet Muhammad, who built a state on humanitarian foundations, calling for truth, justice, mercy and delinquency for peace." He stressed that "we must stop wasting opportunities, and it is time for honest frankness that will put the country on the right track," stressing that "the need for a new political and social contract that guarantees civil peace and addresses the mistakes and experiences of the past, has become an imperative."
Saleh added: "The continuation of the status quo is no longer acceptable, the formation of governments is taking longer, constitutional provisions are more disrupted, and living conditions and services are more bad, and it is not possible to bet on the patience of the Iraqis more."
He pointed out that "the absence of permanent stability exhausts our country and people, and opens the door open to external interventions that have made the country a field and fuel for the struggles of others on its land, with the money and lives of the Iraqis." The Iraqi president went on to say, “A whole year has passed since the elections were held without completing their constitutional entitlements, which is totally unacceptable,” adding: “I sincerely call on all political forces for a serious dialogue whose basis and goal is the interest of the country and the citizen, and to move towards forming a government with full powers, To approve the idling budget and keep people’s affairs in order.”
Saleh considered that "Adhamiya and Kadhimiya, the twins of Baghdad, are inseparable and inseparable," noting that "they had a prominent role in burying sedition, and they are truly a symbol of unity and cohesion among Iraqis." The Iraqi president stressed that “attempts by terrorist groups to justify their actions with the true Islamic religion have failed, and those who wanted to blame Muslims for terrorism and extremism were disappointed,” stressing that “the first reform is to fight corruption, this dangerous scourge that eats away at the body of the state, threatens its entity, and prevents Our youth have a fair opportunity to contribute to building their country.”
He explained that "the repercussions of corruption are not limited to wasting the country's wealth, but also serve to fuel divisions and threaten social peace."
Salih noted that "Iraq's geographical location in the heart of the region should make it a bridge of communication and an economic, commercial and cultural center, not a hub and arena for the conflicts of others," adding that "Iraqis insist on a homeland with full sovereignty, living in security with its people and with its neighbors, and taking His civilized position in the region and the world.” Saleh's speech coincides with the continuation of the political crisis that Iraq is going through a year after the parliamentary elections. While the differences of the Shiite house still prevent the candidate from forming the government, the differences of the Kurdish House still prevent agreement on a consensual candidate between the two main Kurdish parties (the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan).
