Representatives of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc threatened to sue the government and Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi for not implementing the Sinjar Agreement, demanding the implementation of the Sinjar Agreement, despite the passage of two years since it was signed between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region, in the presence of the United Nations and international support.
MP Mahma Khalil said, in a joint press conference today, Monday, "Sinjar's conditions are still tragic, and we have not come out of it because of the constitutional, legal and security violations."
He added, "The government of Mustafa Al-Kazemi failed miserably to implement the agreement, when it promised the people of Sinjar to implement this agreement on the ground, and it is obligated to do so, and we will sue it in the Iraqi courts for not implementing the agreement."
He explained, "One of the terms of the Sinjar agreement includes the employment of 2,500 security personnel from the people of Sinjar to replace irregular and illegal forces," criticizing the Al-Kazemi government, which sees the displaced people sleeping in tents and in tragic conditions, and so far there are no services, no security, no return of the displaced, and no reconstruction. .
He continued, “There is an illegal administration that is endorsed by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, and the people of Sinjar rejected this administration, so we, representatives and representatives of Sinjar and the Kurdistan Regional Government, are trying to implement the agreement, but to no avail because of the obstacles placed by the PKK, and it is shameful.” The government should not ratify and implement the agreement, and the agreement is still ink on paper.”
