Shafaq News/ On Thursday, 15 "independent" deputies announced the formation of an opposition front to the government of Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, which is to be passed by the ruling parties, within the House of Representatives, in order to confront partisan quotas and financial and administrative corruption.
Independent MP Hadi Al-Salami told Shafak News Agency, "Through the oversight role within the House of Representatives, the opposition front will work to combat corruption and reconstruction."
Al-Salami added: "We, the independent representatives, in addition to the (Eshraqa Kanon) bloc, decided to boycott the government formation session, and resort to the political model."
He continued, "We have no knowledge of what is happening with the participation of some independent representatives in the formation of the cabinet, and we will have a special bloc within the House of Representatives, under the name (Parliamentary Opposition) to fight corruption and eliminate quotas in state institutions."
The House of Representatives intends to hold a special session to pass the ministerial cabinet for the person in charge of forming the government, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, in the middle of next week.
Shafak News Agency has learned that there are differences over some ministerial portfolios, as well as pressure exerted on Al-Sudani in this regard, which led to the exclusion of the inclusion of the voting file on the cabinet in a session scheduled to be held next Saturday.
