The Ministry of Planning will resolve the file of lagging projects at the end of this month, while revealing a final report that includes solutions, treatments and economic feasibility for those projects in Baghdad and the provinces.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Abdul-Zahra Al-Hindawi, said in a statement reported by the official newspaper, "The ministry continues to receive lagging projects from all sides, whether they are governorates, ministries, or departments not affiliated with a ministry, to discuss the causes, find solutions and treat each project," noting that "the ministry is the end of it." This month, it will prepare a detailed report on these projects and their feasibility.
Al-Hindawi added, "Some of these projects that are useless will be deleted, and solutions and treatments will be found for others to resume work."
Al-Hindawi pointed out that "the largest proportion of these projects was for the regional development program, which amounted to 157 projects," stressing that "this number will change after the ministry's procedures."
He explained that "the delay in the implementation of these projects is due to many reasons, but the most prominent of them was Cabinet Resolution No. 347 (which was issued in 2015, according to which work on these projects was stopped as a result of the war against terrorism, as well as the drop in oil prices, as the state at that time She was facing a great challenge, and accordingly she harnessed all her capabilities to confront ISIS."
