Al-Sudani makes a quick amendment to the government formation book and sends a new request to hold a parliamentary session
Shafaq News / The Prime Minister in charge of forming the government, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, on Wednesday, made a quick amendment to the government formation book and sent it back to the presidency of the Iraqi parliament, for the purpose of holding a session of granting confidence to his government.
Al-Sawadni’s request stated: “Based on the provisions of Paragraph (Fourth) of Article (76) of the Constitution, and in accordance with Republican Decree No. (34) issued on the thirteenth of October 2022, which includes our assignment to form the Council of Ministers, we would like to inform you of our readiness to submit The cabinet line-up, I request you to kindly schedule a parliamentary session to present the names of the candidates for cabinet membership and the ministerial curriculum to the honorable ladies and gentlemen of the House of Representatives, for the purpose of a vote of confidence.
On Wednesday, the Iraqi Council of Representatives rejected a previous request submitted by the Prime Minister in charge of forming the government, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, to hold a session of granting confidence to his government tomorrow, Thursday.
A letter issued by the House of Representatives and addressed to Al-Sawadni's office, obtained by Shafaq News Agency, showed that "the form of the book requesting the holding of the session did not meet the formality stipulated by the Constitution, from the Official Languages Law, and the first was to use the official Kurdish language in parallel with the Arabic language.
