Today, Friday, the head of the Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, called for the governorates to be given their share of the petrodollars and outlets as compensation for the environmental impacts they cause.
Al-Hakim said, in a statement, "During our meeting with a number of governors, we discussed the reality of the provinces and ways to advance it, and we stressed that success in the provinces is success throughout Iraq."
He added, “We called on the governors to take care of the media aspect and inform the public about what has been achieved, what is under way, and what is on the list of priorities.”
He pointed to "the importance of balancing strategic projects and services that citizens need on a daily basis, and the need to complete projects that have reached advanced stages in order to enter service and avoid extinction."

He stressed "integrity with the ministries and their projects, and cooperation with the Ministry of Planning to complete projects and unify visions about them, and we called on us to pay attention to the health and educational aspects and to provide job opportunities."
He continued, “We also called for creating the appropriate environment for entering investments that revive the economy, and we indicated that this can only be done through the power of the state and the law, and we emphasized the importance of competition between governorates in success stories and services.”
And he added, “We pointed out that the provinces possess solid universities that have experiences and have great scientific and technical competencies, as we called for benefiting from these experiences and communicating with competencies abroad to serve the cities of Iraq.”
Al-Hakim said, "We also stressed the importance of the provinces obtaining their compensation from the petrodollars or from the border crossings, as they are less compensated for the environmental impacts inflicted on them."
